I didn't notice anything at the time all this was written. Then again, I
use more than one ISP's DNS servers to avoid this sort of problem. I
learned to do so for survival (well, useable net connection) purposes
during my brief stay on Telstra cable a couple of years ago. After all,
Telstra's DNS was down as much as up, so I had to find somebody else's.
BIND 9 is very happy with multiple DNS servers to forward queries too,
and does an admirable job of making sure you never even notice an outage
by your ISP.
I'm not too sure what the ISPs in question would think of that, but
since I have accounts with both of them I don't think they can really
complain. All the traffic is across WAIX, too.
