[plug] Auto-login on character mode

I've got a situation where I have to replace a machine running a
DOS application... obviously the smallest new hardware I can buy is
about 100 to 1000 too big/powerful, but there you go. 

The application runs under DOS. Now I'd like to run it under Linux
with dosemu (not sure if it actually will do so, but it's worth a
try) for future-proofing (future network, physical security, etc).

Initially I'd like the machine to login and fire up dosemu
automagically. Character-mode auto-login is required.

What's a safe replacement for *getty in that situation?
