Makes me feel positively underpowered. I do allmost everything nowadays on my
fanless Via C3 500Mhz machine as it is very quiet, low cost to run all day
and so convenient to walk past and type a few words when I think of them. My
'big gun' is a P3 800, only fired up when I need to run windoze because it is
so noisy (since I live out in the bush, it's 'noisy' when the fridge starts
up, or when one of the two or three cars a day drives past, or a dog barks in
the distance). No way do I want an Athlon with a cyclonic cooling tower - it
would annoy the neighbours!

Now if only I could find a way to make debian leave my hard drive alone long
enough for it to spin down when it is not really needed...

And just quickly on the anandtech web page - don't you just *hate* those
pages with only one usefull paragraph embedded in piles of advertising?

Steve
