[plug] strange things and segment faults.

hello

I got this email from my server today. and since it is doing strange things
on the command line.
for example
its displaying Ç@ where root at faraday should be.
and typing commands, eg ls, dont work unless I run it from its directory.
otherwise averything else seems to be working. i think.

does anyone know whats going on???
