What problem is that?

Onno recommended something like this - what output did you get when you
tried it?:
  cd /
  ln -s /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.22-1-k7 vmlinuz
  ln -s /boot/initrd.img-2.4.22-1-k7 initrd.img
  lilo -v

No, it's not necessary to remove the old kernels. Leave them there
until you're sure the new one is working properly. Run "uname -a" to
find out what version you're currently using. When you're ready to
remove an old one, use "aptitude" or another packaging tool (dpkg,
apt-get) to do it.
