Yeah I kinda thought that might be the case.  Just seems that there is a better way of ridding the system of these unwanted e-mails.
Hell spend a good portion of time just going through which is legit and which isn't.

You could do that, but you'd end up rejecting a huge amount of legit email
too.  "unknown" means the IP address does not have a reverse DNS entry
which is becoming more and more common thanks to lazy sysadmins.
