Which only has the initial installation ISOs, not all of the source
archives ("distfiles") that Gentoo will fetch after it's got a base
system running, nor the portage tree.

The lack of a WAIX mirror was one of the reasons why after a couple of
months running Gentoo I gave up and reinstalled Debian.  Another was
that either I or it completely broke KDE as part of an upgrade.  Yet
another was that it took too bloody long to compile anything.  But I
digress...

(<rant>I am, of course, /still/ waiting for KDE3.x to hit Debian.  It
seems likely that KDE 3.0.1 will reach testing by mid-2007, a few weeks
after the release of Debian 3.1 "Sarge" and shortly before KDE 4.7 comes
out.</rant>)
