Have you considered :

1 - internal modems usually associate with com3 or com4 unless manually
assigned to com1 or com2.

2 - com1 and com3 usually have the same IRQ - as do com2 and com4.

3 - I assume that ttyS0 = com1

4 - Which port did you have the internal modem assigned to ? I suspect com3 ???

5 - consider that you may have an IRQ conflict ???.

If I am incorrect, could somebody put me straight on this one.

Cheers.
