Dear PLUGgers,

An update on the Canon A200 digital camera and gphoto2... Success was had
at a command-line level by over-riding the camera identification string.
Thanks to a Petr Baum from Melbourne who wrote on this to the gphoto
mailing list. For those interested the syntax is

gphoto2 --usbid 0x4a9:0x3062=0x4a9:0x3059 --list-files and
gphoto2 --usbid 0x4a9:0x3062=0x4a9:0x3059 --get-all-files

to, well, list and get camera files respectively :-)

I mention it here in the hope that it might help someone else, perhaps
with a camera yet-to-be-included in the supported cameras list. The
magic mushrooms above "translate" a Canon A30 into an A200. It is
reported as an A30 in the subsequent dialogues but other than that, the
.jpg's come across just fine. Supposedly the next release of libgphoto2
will have the A200 natively supported. Because gtkam relies on
libgphoto2, the above will not enable gtkam to function but once the
.jpg's are stored, any jpg-aware viewer will display them.

Cheers,
Denis
