I'm looking at doing some form of backup from disk to disk and I noticed
that a lot of places recommend using dd.  However, it appears to
indicate that in order to do this correctly one has to be in single
mode.
Is this the correct method or is there a way this can take place while
the server is running in regular mode?  I'm looking at doing this late
at night. I would like to set this up where it is virtually a mirror of
the active disk.
