[plug] re: rpm -bb command

In rhl8.0 I issued rpm -bb package.spec and I get a :
[root at gfpmsql SPECS]# rpm -bb bcm5700.spec
-bb: unknown option

Checking rpm --help I found nothing to mention -bb or building binaries.   Anyone seen this or know what I'm doing wrong?
