Hello Kai
The feedback that I have received so far is that people are
interested->excited about the XML-RPC interface along the lines of
developing a standard.
If you wish to find out more about OGo I would check out the rapidly
developing FAQ and mailing lists at www.opengroupware.org.
The OpenOffice.org Groupware Project (http://groupware.openoffice.org/) is
about the client end (mostly GLOW), but there is some recent discussion
about OGo on the dev at groupware.openoffice.org list that may be of interest.
See the mailing list tab at the top of the OOo Groupware Project home page.
I have just received a message notifying me that there were 3.000.000+ hits
on www.opengroupware.org in the last 36 hours. They have some mirrors now,
see the front page if you wish to download.
Some of you have been telling me that you can't move from StarOffice 5.2 to
OpenOffice.org because you need calendaring and some other things which I
forget. Perhaps OGo will assist with this transition.
I know there are other groupware servers, but the people I have spoken with
have not implemented them for whatever reason. Likewise, there are other
groupware clients other than GLOW being developed or available.
The relationship between OGo and OOo is complementary. I'm looking forward
to a cross-platform groupware server/client using open standards.
All the best
