Keep in mind that when MS does a patch upgrade it usually includes a whole slew of files for the base system as well as create more holes. Where as in RH it may be 30 apps, but of those 30 how many are really being used in the base system.
Bottom line MS approach is if it's not broken now it will be after the patch.

Has anyone else noticed the first 'Tiny Byte'?

According to this, Windows Server 2003 just received its first security patch,
while Redhat 9 'has had over 30 security patches during its first 2 months of
life'.

Since somebody on list writes for this magazine, perhaps he could find out the
qualification for this? Just how many of the 30 patches were to the actual OS
and not the bundled apps? How many apps are bundled with WS2003? How many
WS2003 holes go unpatched?

Its a fairly negative spin from a magazine which appeared to be level headed
enough for me to start buying it.

Perhaps Im reading too much into it :)
