[plug] LILO - Timestamp mismatch ! Wot' I do !?!?

Google doesn't have anything useful on this.

I am putting together a gateway box using Debian and a P-Pro SMP server to
replace the current box that is getting cranky.

System installs fine, runs single CPU from install. A test upgrade to an SMP
kernel (2.4.18) went fine. Both cpu's pump along fine.

Change source to testing and upgrade including 2.4.20-9 SMP kernel (BIG
download... don't want to have to do this again if I don't have to :).
Everything appeared to be fine but on reboot I get "LILO - Timestamp
mismatch" and it halts there.

I can boot off the rescue disk, nothing apparently wrong with the hdds (100%
SCSI btw, if that matters). I have done things like lilo -M /dev/sda to
reinstall the MBR. I have downgraded to the 2.4.18 kernel but it still
doesn't like it.

Wot' I do? And more to the point how do I fix it? ("reinstall" is a MS
helpdesk answer I will treat it with the attention it deserves :)
