I only very recently did an apt-get insall grub.
Especially for me as I'm testing about 10-20 kernel builds a day at the 
moment, GRUB has made life far easier.
It's only downside is it's size. Too big to use in any of my embeded 
projects, but on the devel machine it's a godsend.
