Why not rpmbuilt -ba *.src.rpm ?
I keep a baby 7.3 box just to rebuild RPMs for Mitel / E-Smith SME
Server (basically RH7.3 + more secure packages but with *no* development
software onboard)
I'm finding more and more pre-packages RPMs requiring updates glibc, and
rpm rebuilding seems the way to go.
Besides, it impresses the more technically able customers when the rpm
revisions have your initials after them :)
