[plug] Hardware problem or kernel bug?

Cameron,

I have only just upgraded to 2.4.20 on a Gentoo system using Reiserfs as
the main partition. So far so good. (although I am using
"gentoo-sources" kernel source so there may be some extra goodies in the
kernel that isn't in the vanilla tree)
