I will be buying a laptop fairly soon, and am currently looking at the
Toshiba Tecra S1. Does anyone have any experience to share with running
redhat or other distro on one of these? Google and
www.linux-on-laptops.com didn't tell me anything, perhaps because it's a
fairly new model.

It does have an ATI Radeon 9000 graphics chip, which seems to be well
supported by XFree86 and by ATI. However, experiences from long ago
when Toshiba laptops always seemed to have slightly strange hardware
have made me wary.

Any comments?

This (enormous) url is for the specs for that laptop.

Thanks
