There's a games place in Epsom Avenue, Belmont who sell as-new 10Gig drives for about $70.
They rip them out of X-Boxen, unlock them and replace them with larger drives.  They often
advertise on eBay.

I bought one a few months back, and it's given me no trouble.  (My box is sort of a museum 
for obsolete hardware).
