[plug] iptables console logging

Okay I know this has been covered and google will dish out answers all
day long about it, but none of them work for me, so ....

How do you stop iptables logging to console on Debian? Has anyone
actually done it?

I've tried suggestions such as:

"-c 4" for klogd and using 'warn' for the LOG target. This stops the
messages but they also stop appearing in /var/log/messages

Adding kern.debug /var/log/iptables to syslog.conf and using a 'debug'
LOG target. This stops them, but nothing appears in /var/log/iptables

Swearing at it a lot. This hasn't had any effect bar a few passing
stares.

Normally I wouldn't care but I'm doing a lot of devel work locally on a
few boxes and I can't put up with the console flooding.

It doesn't matter how many times I read the syslogd documentation and
config files, they make less and less sense each time I do.

Anyone got a solution?

*tears out another chunk of hair*

Thanks,

Ryan
