Is this an upgrade? If so have a look at your /etc/my.cnf file and see if there are any changes. Generally if upgrading MySql there will be changes that took place in the /etc/my.cnf file.

Hi all,

When I start mysqld with /etc/init.d/mysqld start, I get a message that
it failed and to look in /var/log/mysql/mysql.err, which is empty.

There are no entries in any other logs, it just went away two days ago
and didn't come back. (I noticed it because bugzilla complained that it
couldn't connect to the database - no wonder it's not there...)

Any clues?
