Currently, I just use (for example):

% apt-ca<tab>

It doesn't take long to type 'apt-ca', and the flow of fingerstrokes
from 'c' to 'a' to '<tab>' feels fine to me. However, if pressed, I
would probably choose to make the following aliases:

aps = apt-cache search
apn = apt-cache --names-only search
apshow = apt-cache show
apshowp = apt-cache showpkg
