[plug] Big Gun needed for X battle

Hi all,

Time to call in the reinforements.  My battle with xfree86 on my laptop 
(toshiba a10) has hit a snag- just enough to be a show stopper.  The 
problem resolves around the devices section as far as I can see.

When I do startx I get the following errors:

(WW) I810: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:2:0) found
(EE) No devices detected.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

I am using XFree86 version 4.2.1.1

I configured XF86Config-4 using dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86. I have 
made a few mods as described below but had the same sort of errors.  I 
have a XF86Config-4 file from Knoppix which works well (in Knoppix) and 
the only significant diffence I can see is in the "ServerLayout" section 
with the Screen line:
Screen      0  "Screen0" 0 0
in Knoppix compared to
Screen	 	"Default Screen"
in the debian configured file.

I tried adding the 0's into the debian file but to no avail.  'man 
XF86Config-4' gave no more than a cursory description of the "Server 
Layout" section so I have no idea what the 0's do.

I also tried creating two device sections for the video card with the 
two BusID's XFree86 complained about; i.e.
BusId		"PCI:0:2:0" and
BusId		"PCI:0:2:1" respectively, however this has not helped.
