[plug] UML VPS hosting that doesn't suck

I'm looking to move my current web/DNS/mail/jabber/stuff hosting
hodge-podge to a UML VPS solution, but so far my investigations have
shown this to be a little pricey. There seems to be quite a variation
in costs ($30 - $1000 per month for what is basically the same service),
however, so I haven't given up hope yet.

My preferences are for Debian, with a reasonable gigabyte or two of
drive space. CPU grunt isn't essential, and there won't be excessive
network traffic.

Does anyone have any particular favourites that are on the
cheaper^H^H^H^H^H^H^H inexpensive side? I'd really like to stay here in
Australia if possible, but so far Australia seems to be the most
expensive.

Current contenders include (but are not limited to):
