Yeah I think that was/is the problem.

Yeah, I'm not sure myself. I think the problem lies within BootX because because I can boot in a perfectly working 2.2
In this I hear you can overwrite the Mac partitions and write Debain to
the boot section. Perhaps I should work out how to do this.
