[plug] Cannot read dvdr properly

When you've mounted the DVD, did you explictly specify a filesystem? It 
may be trying to read the DVD as if it were UDF formatted. Try:

mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/$CDROM_DEVICE /mnt/cdrom

and see if that does the trick. If not, then ^is09660^hfsplus^ and try 
again.
