Hi ya all,
I'm trying to rip some songs of a CD using Sound Juicer (ripped most of
my collection using a Windows program a couple of years ago) and I keep
getting the following errors on the console.
<snipped from /var/log/messages>
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 {
DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: hdc: packet command error: error=0xb0
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: ATAPI device hdc:
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: Error: Aborted command -- (Sense
key=0x0b)
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: (reserved error code) -- (asc=0x48,
ascq=0x00)
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: The failed "Read CD" packet command
was:
Oct 28 16:05:00 gilgal kernel: "be 04 00 00 00 10 00 00 08 f8 00 00 "
This problem doesn't seem to be limited to sound-juicer as other ripping
programs are doing the same.
System is a mix of sarge/sid and I'm using a Pioneer DVD drive to do the
ripping.
Google hasn't turned up anything helpful or useful so far but it could
be that I'm just using the wrong search terms.
Hope someone can throw some light on the subject for me.
