(I don't use KDE so I don't know exactly what the "bookmarks" feature
is.) For my oft-used directories, I defined 'bookmarks' for them with
my shell (zsh). For example,

hash -d long2=/this/is/a/hard-to-remember/and/long+to+type/path

Then, I can go to that directory using `cd ~long2` (i.e. the named
directory syntax, as for usernames). This also allows the shell's prompt
to show "~long2" instead of the full path name. I have a function to
quickly define a name for the "current directory" and save it to a "dot
file" so that it is recreated each time I start a new shell.
