Dovecot seems a bit buggy in my experience with it on Fedora (even with
the latest version) - at least as a POP3 server.

My main grievances are that if the client is using LookOut and wants to
leave a copy of message on server, then LookOut constantly sees every
message as new each and every time and of course keeps downloading all
the email as duplicates over and over again. Its probably more than
likely something buggy in LookOut, but it was fine previously with the
previous setup with a different POP3 system.. so there is obviously
something slightly different that LookOut is expecting than what it gets
from Dovecot. I use Mozilla myself at work (LookOut couldn't handle the
amount of email I had) and leave a copy of message on server and it
doesn't have a problem, its just LookOut operating in usual Microsoft
fashion.

The other slight issue is that at first it wasn't finding all of the
users on the system... coming up with unknown user errors in the logs.
I tinkered with it a bit and didn't get anywhere, so I reset things to
default again (which is where they were before I touched it) and it
seemed to come good and hasn't gone whacky since. So even though I
didn't do anything to it, it started working properly... so I'm not
going to touch it whilst its working... don't fix what ain't broke and
all that. :)
