for me, make.

Ive seen some shocking 'professionally made' cables and have had quite a few
fail.

If youre going to make your own tho, make sure youre aware of the difference
between a solid core and stranded cable, and that there is a different type of
connector for each.

The worst is when you see a stranded connector on a solid core cable - 
you just
*know* youll be back to replace it.
