[plug] [OT] DSLAM and ADSL web interface

I  tried this in the whirlpool forum first but haven't got a definite
response. If i were to try to push it on topic it would be about the
long standing debate of ADSL modem in bridged mode and Linux firewall vs
ADSL modem in router/firewall mode.

Basically there has been a little speculation that someone with access
to the DSLAM could access the ADSL modems web interface (either though
default, weak password or backdoor) and change the configuration to open
up your network.

Does anyone here know if this is possible?

It would be a very important consideration when recommending a solution
for security.
