This discussion is specifically *not* about ECI, because the chances of
making that work under Linux are far smaller than fixing a web-based
solution that uses a Java authentication method, that works under
Win/Mac.

I understand your frustration, seeing that the ECI code is Java based,
but that is a battle for a different day.
