[plug] permanently inserting modules

Ok Stupid question.

Finally found out what I was doing wrong in regards to my laptop with 
debian damn I'm slow.

I had to insert evdev or modprobe evdev.  Download the 
xfree86-synaptics-driver.

I also have to modprobe psmouse.  Is there a way of having bootup 
automatically insert the modules.

I have used update-modules but it doesn't seem to update them.  I've 
never had to do it before so its one of those noob questions that I've 
never had to learn.
