Subject: [first_wednesday] Reforming the SAGE-AU WA Chapter

Following discussion from the main SAGE-AU list, Donna Ashelford has
indicated a desire to get the Perth Chapter going again.

It's been almost a year since the previous dispute with Andrew Hennell,
and he's no longer on the Exec.

There's also a reasonable possibility of getting the 2005 Conference
held here in Perth (The current poll on the member's web site lists us
as first preference at 35%).

So, this is an initial call of interest for those in WA who are (or
were) SAGE-AU members or are interested in joining (renewing) if regular
events were to be held.

1) Are people interested in getting things happening regularly again?
We'd need a group of four or five people to ensure a range of speakers,
and that one person's workload doesn't prevent meetings being organised.
I'm willing to push this, as long as there's a group of people :)

If you're interested, either in attending or helping, please let me know
via email to sage at digitaljunkie.net

2) Are people interested in having the SAGE 2005 Conference in Perth? If
so, please join / renew and vote for it on the members section of the
SAGE website (http://www.sage-au.org.au/).

3) Please distribute this to other ex members or lists of interest (eg
AUUG or PLUG)

prk.
