[plug] Linux stock trading system

Hello,

I get the following when trying to run eclipse:

A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK)
must be available in order to run Eclipse. No Java virtual machine
was found after searching the following locations:
/home/chris/eclipse/eclipsetrader/./jre/bin/java
'java' in your current PATH

Yet I have:

chris at debian:~/eclipse/eclipsetrader/jre/bin/java$ ls -poa
total 14076
drwxr-xr-x  2 chris     4096 Dec  9 22:49 ./
drwxr-xr-x  3 chris     4096 Dec  9 22:49 ../
-rw-r--r--  1 chris 14381383 Dec  9 22:49 j2re-1_4_2_05-linux-i586.bin

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
