[plug] screen - No more PTYs

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with screen on Debian Testing and Google doesn't seem to 
be  much help.

When  I try  to start screen, via ssh login, as Rennie I get "No more PTYs", 
then after a few seconds "Sorry, could not find a PTY".

All works fine as root.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but there is no change.

Any hints on what I should be looking at are much appreciated.
