[plug] Keystrokes for screen saver in Gnome?

I was just wondering, how about that 'ctrlaltdel' line in inittab? (I
assume that most, if not all, distros should have it). Which process
ultimately catches it first if i do a ctrl-alt-del in X?

the manpage for inittab says,

" ctrlaltdel
The process will be executed when init receives the
SIGINT signal."

Just which process is responsible for catching this key combination,
and how does it know that it is supposed to send it to init? is it the
kernel? or the terminal program? Do they automatically send the signal
to init, and init decides from inittab what to do?

There's plenty of information duplicating the inittab man file, but i
havent found any information regarding these questions yet. If anybody
has any info, i would sure appreciate some pointers.
