[plug] Mouse problems

I'm trying to get the wheel on my MS IntelliMouse Optical USB/PS/2 Mouse
to work. The following is the setup:

It does work as a 3 button mouse where I can use the wheel to paste, but
not move forward or backward.  
Any ideas?
