No patch is required for Win98, as display of SMB messages must be
explicitly enabled.

For win2k and xp, just turn off the "messenger" service or run a
firewall.

Even better, for any windows host - have a linux (or BSD) firewall
between it and the Internet. Preferably blocking everything in both
directions :-P
