I can give one example of a bus-related near-injury caused primarily by
a car driver:  a bus going down Davallia Rd - next to Carine shopping
centre - had to swerve to avoid being hit by a car pulling out of the
shopping centre.  An elderly lady who was standing at the front of the
bus about to get off at the next stop was thrown on her back.  She
seemed to be okay; however it could easily have been much worse had the
collision not been avoided.
