[plug] maths in OO

hi List,

remarkably OO can read math equations written with MathType --
MathType appears to be an (expensive?) extension to MS Word and if it
is not installed then Word makes a total hash of the equations. This
has been a lifesaver on more than one occasion when I get documents
from the LaTeX impared.

My question is how come OO 1.0.2 does a much better job of this than
OO 1.1.0?

In 1.1.0 many equations are a train wreck either on the screen or
on the printed page or both. In addition things like "'" come out as
"?"

Java has certainly revolutionized marketing and litigation.
