I've always liked using Etherboot (http://www.etherboot.org/,
http://www.rom-o-matic.net/) for netbooting. I haven't done any remote
installs with normal distro installers, but I expect most will support
it. 

I mainly use etherboot for thin clients and to fire up automated
image-based installs.
