[plug] Gah! Apache/Perl/Resource malloc problems

This is a long shot, but does any PLUGger have any ideas as to why the 
Apache::Resource module, configured to stop large apache processes, should be 
giving the following error on every web request:
   Ouch!  malloc failed in malloc_block()

This is Debian/Woody. Apache config is large, and complex, with lots of <Perl> 
config blocks. Apache::Resource used to work - since then the systems have 
been rebuild, and the config has been changed considerably (predominantly to 
use <Perl> config blocks).

Any ideas?
