Hello,
I've just installed a Greenkeeper 212 Automatic Spinkler System
controller (http://www.toro.com.au/link.cfm?page=55) and couldn't help
but notice the rj-45 plug on the top right of the unit.
Now the plug is designed for their EZ-Remote™ device (like a tv remote)
but I was considering seeing if I can instead control it with a Linux
machine in view of setting up apache with a web based interface to be
able to control it remotely.
Now first of all when I plug a Linux machine in I'm not going to have a
clue how to talk to the Greenkeeper 212. I don't know if it's going to
have an IP and what range it's going to be on or if it even uses TCP/IP.
So what program can I use to find out this stuff?
I will report my progress back to the list. BTW has anyone tried this
before?
regards,
Chris
