I'll be interested in hearing about that. As I've been mainly using
PostgreSQL (plus MySQL 4 occasionally for its excellent fulltext
indexing), it'll be interesting to hear how another of the OSS DB
options goes.

AFAIK there are now the following major Open Source RDBMSes:
	Ingres - Computer Associates
		 http://www3.ca.com/Solutions/Collateral.asp?CID=59656
	PostgreSQL
		http://www.postgresql.org/
	SAP-DB/MaxDB (now via MySQL)
		http://www.mysql.com/products/maxdb/
	Firebird (Interbase derived)
		http://firebird.sourceforge.net/
	MySQL
		http://www.mysql.com/products/mysql/

... plus specialised or non-RDBMS ones like:
	ZODB
	Gadfly
	Sqlite

We're becoming spoilt for choice. Especially now that MySQL is actually
useful for at least very simple real databases (it may lack many
critical features like stored procedures, but at least it now supports
transactions). I do wonder if all of those DBs are likely to be around
forever, though - mindshare issues and all. It'll be particularly
interesting to see what happens to ingres and SAP-DB.
