[plug] problem with KDE 3.2

Hi all

for some reason now, when I use KDE I continually get errors appearing that 
say:

Sorry, could not find mime type application/octet-stream

whenever I use certain apps like konqueror.

I tried sticking the mimetype back in the file associations under konqueror, 
but it only seems to make it worse. kio_thumbnail now goes bananas in a loop 
and spews the errors out one after another.

Any ideas?
