That was the assumption I was working on in my response. Web traffic is 
in a sense quite latency sensitive, but it won't really /matter/ to a 
business if web traffic is slightly laggy. The same is not true of an 
interactive terminal app the users spend all day in.

This is particularly fun when the application on the other end was 
written in the days of dumb terminals, and doesn't even have a concept 
of "unexpected user disconnection." Handle unexpected termination? Well, 
if you call database corruption "handled" then sure it does...
