This, of course, suggests another means of protecting windows machines
as well: find, unregister, and delete the USB Storage class driver. I
suspect it could just be reinstalled off the CD, but that's somewhat of
a barrier at least. 

Finding out how to remove the driver could be non-trivial, though. Or
not:

suggests ways to find the storage driver in other versions, if this
method doesn't work on them. I'd be looking for 'usbstor.inf' and the
files it lists.
