Easy to account for it.  Work out how much downtime would be caused by 
your server(s) being toasted by a power surge.

I'm sure the money in wages that would be being paid to staff sitting 
there twiddling their thumbs for even a day would be a couple of times 
more expensive than a suitable UPS.
