Won't you just be swapping one set of syntax with another?

SQL is actually nice, especially when you get to queries..
It's not far from natural language reeaaaallllyyyyy.. 8^)==

You can look at Mysql-navigator, but its not that tough.. 
http://www.mysql.com/portal/software/item-57.html. Freshmeat will have 
other gui tools too i reckon.
